Answer Readiness

Headings are phrased as real questions

One of 40 checks the scanner runs. This one is worth 4 points inside the Answer Readiness dimension, which carries 10% of the total score.

What does this check look at?

At least 3 H2 or H3 headings either end with a question mark or begin with how, what, why, which, when, who, where, is, are, do, does, can, should or will.

How do I fix it?

  • Partial pass: Rewrite headings as the question a customer would ask, keeping the keyword inside the sentence.
  • Engines retrieve spans that match a question. Label-style headings give them nothing to match.

Why is it worth 4 points?

Points are relative weights inside a dimension, and a dimension's weight decides how much of the total it can move. The reasoning for this dimension's weight is published rather than asserted:

DimensionAnswer Readiness — 10% of the total score
Points for this check4 of 10 in this dimension
Worth at most4.0 of the 100 points

Substantial, and largely mechanical to fix.

What else is measured in this dimension?

How do I see my own result?

Run a scan on your own domain. The report lists every failed check with the evidence that produced it, so you can tell a real failure from a check that does not apply.
